# Archiving Contacts

> How to archive individual contacts to remove them from your contact list, and how to request bulk archiving from Captivated support.

## Step by Step Instructions

To archive a contact, go to the "Contacts" option in the lefthand menu, select the contact you'd like to archive using the select box to the far left of the contact's name and click the 'Archive' button.

You can archive contacts, one at a time. Archiving a contact will remove that contact from your contact list, but any communication with that contact will still be stored in your conversation list.

**When you archive a contact, it cannot be undone.**

## Bulk Archiving

Only Captivated support can bulk archive contacts. The easiest way is to [tag](/features/tagging-contacts) all the contacts you would like to our team to archive with a tag such as "archive" or "delete". That way Captivated support can quickly bulk archive only contacts with that tag.

Once you have tagged all the contacts you would like us to archive, use the headphone icon in the bottom left of Captivated to ask for assistance.
